Q Club

The Spokane String Quartet welcomed members of the Q Club in May for an inside look at how iPads are replacing sheet music for some performances and also the quirky tempo markings that replace “allegro” or “andante” for some modern composers.

The Q Club is special group that has been providing additional financial support to the Spokane String Quartet since 2014 and in return members share unique experiences such as the up-close-and-personal performance this spring at Hamilton Studio.

The mission of the Q Club is to “serve as the visionary group of donors who further the artistic reach of the Spokane String Quartet and make sure this intimate, sparkling experience of music is available to a wider audience.”

Major donors, such as Q Club members, are instrumental in making up the difference in budgets of small ensembles since ticket sales never meet the concert expense. We want to keep our ticket prices down so that the experience of chamber music is accessible.

The Spokane String Quartet shares works by modern composers several times each season, and audiences have responded favorably to the programming. But modern music can be costly.
Q Club contributions help pay the royalty fees so that the Quartet can continue to perform innovative works by modern composers.

The Q offers its members a very special event during the  year, combining fine food and wonderful chamber music in unique intimate settings that provide members with special access to the musicians.

Q Club membership is given to donors who make a minimum annual gift of $250 per person or $500 a couple.
